It's with great pleasure that I write this blog post to announce that last night in a gala dinner in London, our CEO, Patrik Berglund, was awarded the Lloyd's List Next Generation in Shipping Award. Accepting the award on his behalf was Xeneta Co-founder and CBDO, Thomas Sørbø, as Patrik is currently in NY launching U.S. operations.

Lloyd's List, known simply as "The List" is one of the world's oldest continuously running journals, having provided weekly shipping news in London as early as 1734. Lloyd's covers all global information, analysis, and knowledge relevant to the shipping industry, including marine insurance, offshore energy, logistics, market data, research, global trade and law, in addition to shipping news.

The Next Generation Award recognises the year’s most noteworthy “young, up–and–coming shipping industry leader, one who has made an outstanding contribution to the industry.”

The judging committee said the following when presenting the award:

"This year’s next generation winner is an individual who exemplifies the up and coming generation of industry executive – a true disruptor. He has the potential to help define how accepted business processes in shipping will work thanks to the price comparison platform for containterised freight he has created with the Xeneta team. He is, in the words of our judges, someone who shows impressive development and real entrepreneurship."

Patrik stressed that this award is an award for all Xenetians. "Our whole team at Xeneta has played an integral part in making our story and product successful in the shipping industry so far."

With great pride and perhaps some tears of joy, I congratulate Patrik and our entire team at Xeneta.
