Five Highlights from the Xeneta Copenhagen Summit 2019

Xeneta Global Summit 2019 recap

Xeneta 2019 (37)-min

We are back at our desks, re-energized from a fantastic 2-day event at this year's Xeneta Global Summit in Copenhagen. It was great to connect, learn and share with the full Xeneta ecosystem – shippers, freight forwarders and carriers. Over 180 people were jammed into the plenaries and the level of excitement was high. We listened to inspiring and enlightening talks and were amazed at how your brilliant minds leverage Xeneta data.

Many exciting things were happening, but we have managed to narrow it down to the top five.

1. Industry Experts

Eric Johnson – Sr. Editor, Technology, JOC moderated a very intense debate on how freight procurement in the industry and supply chain management has changed, what has caused this change and the rise of index-linked contracting. Our air freight customers got to hear Dirk de Rooij – Commercial Director, Seabury Consulting talk about the latest air-cargo market trends. Cathy Morrow Roberson, Founder & Head Analyst, Logistics Trends & Insights answered attendees’ questions such as “what are the limitations and issues of digitization in shipping?’, “what are the impacts on businesses?” and “when can we expect results from digitization?”. Neil Dekker, Sr Analyst, Infospectrum, returned to this year's summit with a talk about liner profitability and the risks shippers should be aware of.

The most highly anticipated session was held by Adrian Tolson, Senior Partner, 2020 Marine Energy who shed some light on the IMO 2020 subject. You should have been there!

2. Two Days, Two Specialized Content Tracks

This year, we split our audience up for more tailored insights but did not limit participation to a particular group, putting the choice for learning in the participants hands. One track was tailored towards shippers and provided guidance on how to turn market dynamics and regulation into real, actionable insights for improved business ROI.
Another track guided freight forwarders on how to implement Xeneta across their organization, including sales & customer lifecycle management. Flexport, Scan Global and Nippon Express shared real-world examples of how they integrated Xeneta directly into their workflow to achieve scale.

3. Brain dates

Ten minutes with the right person – and the right questions – can go a very, very long way. Brain dates were one-on-one meetings between Xeneta Summit participants during breaks based on what one can teach or wants to learn. And with a crowd like Xeneta's customers, the chances were that you ended up chatting with the cream of the crop.

4. Xeneta Help Desks

The Xeneta Help Desks were swarming with people during the breaks. Private consultations were held with our experts who build and support the products and services you use every day, helping you to maximize benefits from your subscription.

5. Customer Appreciation Event: Meet the Vikings

Xeneta closed down the National Museum of Denmark located in The Prince’s Palace to host an exclusive dinner surrounded by the world of Vikings. Everyone enjoyed great company with drinks, exquisite food, and entertainment.

This isn’t just us patting ourselves on the back.
