Container Fumigation Fee

Fumigation of shipping containers are usually a standard protocol for many countries. Fumigation is done to ensure pests do not enter or leave a country in order to prevent diseases.

The company that does the fumigation issues a fumigation certificate is issued for the treated contents and the container.

Depending on the destination of the cargo and whether it contains wood packaging material (WPM), the applicable fumigation standards need to be followed during treatment.

The fumigation company will charge the shipper with a container fumigation fee which may vary from country to country.
